After 17 years of the old-fashoned so called "classic" design of GRID TIP it was time to bury it and to develop a new one in order to adopt GRID TIP to a more modern look and feel. Ein Armutszeugnis für die FIA und die Stewarts: 1. Die Strafe OK, wenn die Bilder die KORREKTE Auslegung des Reglements eindeutig belegen. 2. Die Höhe der Strafe eine Farce, zumal ich mir einbilde, mich erinnern zu können, dass es für's Anfassen (bei erstmaligem Vergehen) bereits auch nur eine zweite, zusätzliche 5 Sekunden Strafe gegeben hat. 3. Und das ist das Blamable, hat es die FIA/haben es die Stewarts nach über 1000 F1 GPs noch immer nicht geschafft, Strafen in time, vor Ablauf des Rennens und vor allem vor der Siegerehrung auszusprechen. Ich denke, dass alle Teams das von den Leitern des Rennen nicht nur erwarten, sondern auch fordern können, denn unter diesen Umständen greift/greifen die Rennleitung/die Stewarts maßgeblich in das Ergebnis des GPs ein. Ein Schelm, der Vorsatz zu erkennen glaubt, zumal mit Blick auf den profierenden Rennstall!

The new change to the Sprint format introduced for the GP of Azerbaijan in Baku with an extra Sprint Shootout on Saturday as Qualifying for the Sprint which gives back the Qualifying on Friday the task of determining the starting grid for the Sunday's Race will not change anything on the events bettable for in GRID TIP for the GP weekends with Sprint races (i.e. Friday's Qualifying - regardless for which following event it sets the starting grid - Saturday's Sprint, and Sunday's Race). Whether the newly introduced Shootout format will be included as an extra tip in GRID TIP will be evaluated at the earliest for the next year's edition of GRID TIP.

Display of Server Time in the headers of GRID TIP, GTFFL and BETSY has been changed to dynamically update. The displayed Server Time reflects Central European Time (CET resp. CEST during summer time). Please let me know if someone experiences a different behaviour (i.e. participants from time zones different than CET/CEST who instead of CET/CEST time see their local time) - I will then correct either the displayed time or the designation from "Server Time" to "Local Time". Spielberg 2023 - eine Farce! Kann man hirnlose Rennleiter nicht einfach ersetzten bei der FIA oder ihnen \"im SInne des Sports\" eine Weisung geben? Im Sinne der Show machen wir jeden Scheiß - es muss endlich ein für alle mal aufhören, dass Ergebnisse direkt nach dem Event nicht feststehen. Entweder die Regeln sind schlecht, die dazu führen oder die Leute die diese auslegen - oder beides. Ich denke letzteres trifft im Moment wohl am wahrscheinlichsten zu!

Despite the fact that the GRID TIP rules are stating that a driver has to start the race to be considered as "First Out", Tsunoda has been filed as "First Out" in the results of the Italian GP of Monza, even if he had not been able to start the race due to an engine failure at the end of the formation lap. The reason for this decision is that the deadline for placing the tips in GRID TIP was already due when he had the engine failure. The rules page of GRID TIP has been ammended accordingly to add this clarification.

The results of Grid Tip should not depend on the ability to place a bet, it should depend on the actual results of a race. As of the offical protest of GRID TIPPER CZA against the application of the new rule regarding determining the First Out of a race, the official regulations council of GRID TIP has decided to grant the protesting party the right to ask for a correction of the results. By discretion of the supreme council of GRID TIP it has - therefore - been decided that for the Grand Prix in question an exception will be applied and both interpretations of the First Out rule will be considered for awarding the corresponding points. This decision is, furthermore, justified by the fact that the new clarification on the rule according the First Out has been introduced into the rules of GRID TIP only as a result of the situation encountered at the Grand Prix of Italy in Monza, and can - hence - be applied as the sole interpretation only for events after that Grand Prix.

@ACL: After the GP of Monza the GRID TIP rules have been corrected in the way that the formation lap of a GP will also be counted for determining the First Out, as - other than for the official F1 - for Grid Tippers any driver that is out of the event following the Qualifying will be counted as First Out, as long as the DNS takes place after the deadline for placing a GP's race tip (which is true for the formation lap). Due to the fact that this rule has only been introduced as a result of a situation encountered during the formation lap of the GP in Monza, the Supreme Council of GRID TIP had decided that for the result of the Monza GP both interpretations (FO during the formation lap vs. FO after race start) were to be counted for awarding the First Out points of the Monza GP, as the rule was too "new" to discriminate Grid Tipper's results of that GP. Since then the new interpretation (that the formation lap counts for the FO) is the only official rule for determining the First Out of a race. (See also Admin post of 2023-09-11 - 13:57:20)

That's correct. As the max. amount of GRID TIP points for a classic Grand Prix is 20 points JUF has already won the GRID TIP championship before the last race in Abu Dabi takes place. Congratulations! It was a really champion-like season for JUF with constantly excellent bets. As I f****'ed up my chance for P2 today, let's see if the runner-ups HSP and HHH will give ACL a hard time for consolidating P2 in the last race in Abu Dabi! Good luck to all of you with a chance for the GRID TIP podium!

Carlos Sainz has been classified as First Out in the results of the Abu Dhabi GP as he retired from the race and, hence, has to be considered as DNF according the rules of GRID TIP even if the official Formula 1 result files him as P18 according to the FIA regulations for determining the positions at the end of a race (i.e. all drivers not in the same lap of the winner filed in the order of their positions after the last driver in the same lap as the winner has crossed the finish line).
